| I don't use a microphone much but I was using a logitech headset to record, which wasn't working. I saw this and since B&H had such a great discount (and return policy), I figured it was worth a try. I'm not sure how it fairs for professionals but for someone who just does recording for fun or needs a basic microphone with great quality, this is the one. |

| I thought I got a great product for the money spent. I sing as a hobby and play on Myspace karaoke alot. I was happy with the way this mic sounded. So much better than my $8 dollar desktop mic that I was using. :) |

This is a great mic for the price. Other reviewers have mentioned the "cheap" stand that comes with it. Look at it like this...you are paying a hundred bucks for the mic, the stand is free... Besides, if you are just using this for web casting, skype or gaming, the stand is fine. If you want to use it in a more professional capacity, get a shock mount (Samson SP01 Shockmount Spider Mount for Condenser Mics works great and you will be in good shape.
The sound is nice and rich with full bass. It's not $600 or $1200 so you are not going to get that level of sound, but for the cost, you can't beat this mic. I have mine set up with sound proofing similar to the portable Hoagan set-up to use in professinal voice over work and I couldn't be happier. Remember, the goal is to get the job done spending as little as possible..not as much as possible!! |
