Bauer Tambora drums are made from exotic, handpicked, kiln-dried, Brazilian rose cedar. In addition to its excellent sound qualities, this wood is simply beautiful. The drumheads are carefully selected and sterilized rawhide, as opposed to the cheaper, lower quality water buffalo heads often found on other manufacturer's products. Added to this is well-tested, rugged hardware designed and manufactured by Bauer Percussion for functionality and longevity. Additionally, the tambora includes comfort rims that make it a true pleasure to play. This Bauer Tambora drum has a natural, glossy finish that lets the true beauty of the wood come through. To ensure excellent sound characteristics, the drums have a 45-degree bearing edge. Elegant rubber gaskets under the side plates help to protect the drum's shell. All these innovations reflect Bauer's ongoing efforts to achieve the best sound, design, fabrication, and finish. The net result is a beautiful and versatile, professional-class drum capable of producing many unique sounds. The tambora is a very versatile drum. In addition to its use in merengue, it can be used in other musical styles. The ability to play it with the hands or drumsticks gives it a lot of flexibility in terms of what it can be used for. It can be taken to a drum circle for totally different sound possibilities. A drum set player could set it up on a stand and use it to create new and interesting rhythms. And, it can be used anywhere else hand drums are appropriate. It is definitely an interesting drum to add to one's set up. Bauer Percussion is located in Brazil.
