The drumheads are carefully selected and sterilized rawhide, as opposed to the cheaper, lower quality water buffalo heads often found on other manufacturer's products. Added to this is well-tested, rugged hardware designed and manufactured by Bauer Percussion for functionality and longevity. Additionally, the tambora includes comfort rims that make it a true pleasure to play. This Bauer Tambora drum has a natural, glossy finish that lets the true beauty of the wood come through. To ensure excellent sound characteristics, the drums have a 45-degree bearing edge. Elegant rubber gaskets under the side plates help to protect the drum's shell.
